Market Squares Bag Along Starts Tomorrow
The Bag Along starts tomorrow. I have my yarn; I know the color sequence I want to use, and I have my suede handles from Susan, so I'm ready.
It's not too late to join in either.

I think it will be fun to make this bag together.
Vera's Car Blues
My car had been giving me a lot of problems lately, from the minor--radio going out--to the uncomfortable--no AC all summer--to the major--oil leak, no heat, and running hot, and I couldn't drive it, so I bit the bullet, and got another car.
I was disappointed because my car had almost 97,000 miles and it had been paid off for over a year. The reason that I did not sink the money into getting if fixed was because three others that I know have had the same problems with the same type of car (Dodge Stratus), and I didn't think it would last another year or so even with the repairs.
Also, the way the car is contructed can make some repairs very expensive. For instance, the battery is under the car, so to change the battery takes more labor, so more costs.
Anyway, I traded it, and got a "new to me" car--a 2002 Mazda 626--and I like the car, but I find the whole car buying process exceptionally stressful. I'm still missing my bad old car, and I'm bummed out that I have to make payments again--less yarn buying.
A Little Bit of Crafts
I didn't get much at all done in the way of knitting and crocheting. I worked a few rows of the baby afghan. I did crochet a hat and one mitten from a pattern in a recent Woman's Day magazine, and I finally finished the twisted scarf from the lovely Scarf Style book. I'll post photos soon.
I'm really looking foward to a quiet and crafty weekend.
Sorry about all the stress with the car. I just keep hoping that mine makes it through the rest of the year. It's 11 years old and has 138,000 miles on it. Luckily I only have to drive about 5 miles a day. I'm not looking forward to another summer with no a/c, but I am still going to miss it terribly when I have to put it out of it's misery.

So what does having a 3-year old car with 78,000 miles on it say about me? Hmmmm... Congrats on the new one -- I'm sure you'll miss the old car a lot less when summer rolls around and you have AC that works. :)

I hate car shopping!! Mine has no a/c but I gladly tie my hair back and put up with it to keep from having that car payment. It runs and runs well, I could care less that it's old. Congratulations on surviving the ordeal!!

Why does the car buying process have to be so stressful? I can't stand the thought of having to buy another car. My friend has a 626 and loves it, very comfy too!
Can't wait to see the twisted scarf!
