The Crazy Hat Lady Returns
...although I don't think she actually goes away.
My friend Mike, who once called me The Crazy Hat Lady in the midst of one of my bouts of hat scratch fever, asked me to make him a hat.
I sent him a collection of links, and he chose The Regular Guy Beanie, a lovely hat, but the simplest in the bunch. I can make one in an afternoon.
So what's a Crazy Hat Lady to do?
Make four hats, of course.
Pat took this test one pretty much as soon as it came off the needles as his own.
I like how the navy one turned out.
Mike is from Kentucky, so I really wanted to make one in Kentucky blue. Of course, there is a color in the Cascade 220.
The beanie is an extremely fast knit, and I like the decreases although I followed the advice of fellow Ravelers and didn't add as many knit rows between the decrease rows, so it wouldn't nipple.
It's a pleasant pattern that's going to be one of my "go to" hats.
To change things up, I threw in a Boyfriend Hat. I'm not crazy about the placement of the stripe; it should be a little lower, but I still works.
In return, I got some bacon mac and cheese from his son's restuarant, Cheese-ology sent to me.
Sorry, no photo; I wasn't thinking straight at the time.
All I can say is that it was truly yummy, and Charleston needs a Cheese-ology!
