ChART Block Party

Saturday, Patrick and I took in the ChART Outdoor Initiative Mural Block Party.  The price of admission was loose change to support art in Charleston and provide paint and supplies for the artists.

The food was great, and I dug the old school music by the DJ's

This little miss was totally getting her groove on.

The show stopper piece was by local artist, Ismael. 

I love his work, and I adore this one in particular.  I didn't get to speak to him, but was told that this piece isn't finished.  I think it's perfect, but who am I to presume to tell Ismael what to do?

Locals, head out to the alley way behind Poe's in the Avondale section of West Ashley to check out something fun.

Break It Up

Saturday's music reminded me how much I love old school rap.

I really love mural art. I even had a photo shoot in front of some in the back of a strip mall on James Island once. I will definitely have to check these out.

Loving the mural art. Who could forget "The Breaks". That was the real rap music.
