Diving for Sun
Now that I've decided on the Sunflower Field Shawl for the Tour de France KAL, It's time to stress out about choose the yarn. While this yarn I spotted on Etsy would be perfect, I decided to don my stash conscious hat on and go diving.
Here's what I came up with.
A Whole Lotta Limon...
I got this lovely Yarntini Limoncello as part of a sock club a couple of years ago. It's beautiful, but maybe a tad too bright for a shawl.
Mix in Some Color...
This Knit Witch yarn that I got from a trip to SAFF is a good candidate in a softer group of yellows, but I don't want it to look stripey.
Sonne Delight
...And then there's my Wollmeise in the color Sonne. It's more orange than yellow, and the shawls I've seen made in this color look good, and I really need to do more with my Wollmeise besides pet it.
Right now, I keep flipping back and forth between the Knit Witch and the Wollmeise.
I have a week to decide. Gentle readers, what say you?
Now for a sunny tune...
Sun, sun, sun here we come!
Enjoy your Saturday.

I like both of them but I'm going with the Knit Witch. The Wollmeise may have a little to much contrast with the orange.

The Wollmeise is lovely! Not that the Knit Witch isn't, but I love orange, so if it were me I'd go with that one.

I vote for the Wollmeise--I think the design is simple and geometric and will play well with any variation in the yarn--and I LOVE orange. :)

I'm leaning pretty heavily towards the Knit Witch. Especially when I go back and look at the photo of all three yarns together. Or, you could just make two. ;) It will be gorgeous no matter what!

Vera, It's good to see you blogging more these days. Here Comes the Sun has always been one of my best most favorites -- and I love those bright yellows.

You have Wollmeise? Lucky girl. I've never been able to score any. I say use that. I love the soft orange and that yarn definitely needs to be used.

I've realized I love looking at your photos of yarn. Most of it looks like candy or a yummy dessert.

Mmmm, Wollmeise. But then I'm always happy to have a good reason to break out the Wollmeise.
