Knitting on the Beach 2007~~Light It Up Purls!
Isn't it cool to see"Welcome Knitting Guild" in lights? It made me feel good to see it.
We spent Friday night knitting for charity and relaxing. I wasn't planning to stay overnight, but I ended up doing so, and had a nice time.
Saturday morning, I got up early, took a walk on the Folly Beach Pier while listening to Sticks and String, and enjoyed the clear, crisp weather and the beautiful view. I've lived near the beach for nearly 20 years now, but I take it for granted. Perhaps, I should get to the beach more often, but that's what I always say.
Both of the LYS had had tables. Check out the gorgeous yarn.
We had a felting class taught by guild member Sara Baldwin. Participants worked on a felted bag
It's A Stitch owner, Margot Anderson taught a Multi-Directional Scarf class.
I taught a crocheting class. I think we all had a great time, and I enjoyed the class and the students. Just great fun, and you know I love promoting crocheting.
Hurray for Hilary!
It was our first year; the group was small. The program went very well, and we had a wonderful time knitting, crocheting, and fellow shipping at the the beach. I'm always glad to meet knitters and crocheters.
Guild president Hilary did a tremendous job putting it all together. Kudos for her!!!
Mark your calendars for the last weekend of February, 2008 for Knitting @ the Beach 2008! Everyone needs a beach getaway. Come join us.
Sunday, Tired Sunday
I was wiped out after Saturday. It took me longer than I thought to get over my cold, so I rested pretty much all day yesterday and watched the NFL Combine (because I'm a geek). I also enjoyed watching Monk and Season two of Extras on Video on Demand.
Are You Having A Laugh?
I hadn't seen Extras before, and the one with Daniel Radcliffe is especially funny, though not for kids. I loved the one with Sir Ian McKellan too. I think I'm crushing on him which could be seen as a bit odd in so many ways, but I think he's too cool for school.
I was too tired to attend the Bloggers' Meet Up downtown. It was the first meet up I missed, and it looked like a lot of fun.
I really, really, really do feel better now. My voice is nearly back to normal, and I did just fine today.
Playing Catch Up
I need to send it out with all the goodies to my pal by Wednesday. Have you seen some of the socks that Cookie A had for Stitches West?
Must have patterns soon!
I'm also working on my second Monkey sock, and the silk crocheted top for Knit. Hope to have something finished soon.
BTW, I should get my first STR club shipment soon. Everyone is chomping at the bit, and I'm looking forward to it too.
