A Little Confusion
I was a very good girl yesterday. I went to work on time, and Patrick got to sleep. I got to the yarn shop at 9:45, and noticed it was already open. The person on the front porch told me I had only fifteen minutes left for the 50% off sale.
Gee, I thought it started at 10!
Nevertheless, I had some idea of what I wanted, so here's what I got.
The rest of the yarn for the Basalt Tank,
Some Classic Elite Mar La...
and On Line Sock Yarn. I hadn't been too sure about this yarn when I first saw it several weeks ago, but I saw it knitted up, and it looks and feels nice.
I broke down and finally got some Lantern Moon dpns.
and finally, some patterns. I really like that crocheted jacked, and I may use the Mar La wool for a Noni Bag.
Full disclosure, I did get most of if in 15 minutes, but since the patterns were $2 all day long, I didn't get them first. Then I decided I wanted the red Cotton Fleece, and the blue sock yarn, so I got them for 40% off.
Anyway, I got in line three times.
All is well.
Spoleto In Effect
After we left the LYS, we headed to the Farmers' Market at Marion Square. The first weekend of Spoleto was in full effect with the blazing heat and crowds, but we enjoy it.
We love looking at the art tents that surround the square, and I purchased a Tate Nation poster from the artist. I love his use of bright, almost surreal colors. His work is so much fun.
We also love the Seed and Feed Abominable Marching Band. They are a hoot.
Send In The Clowns Again
Patrick, who loves the circus and clowns wants me to resolve my clown issues. We went to the Circus Flora last night, and I liked it. There was only one clown, and he was more "Little Tramp" than Bozo and he was a good acrobat to boot.
Pat thought this picture would be funny. This was taken today at Marion Square.
The photo doesn't show it , but he has three legs. Okay, it was mildly funny, but I all could think of was how hot he must be.
Happy Birthday Neil!
Today is the birthday of my favorite singer/songwriter, Neil Finn. Long time readers of this blog know what an obsession I have with all things Finn. His music says so many things I simply cannot, and his lyrics are often in my head.
To celebrate, I have been listening to only his music this weekend.
For some real fun (well..for the Finnatics like me), check out the Neil Finn Random Lyric Generator. Keep refreshing for more.
I don't know what my favorite Finn song (there are so many) is, but Love This Life this is one of them.
It's beauty and clarity never ceases to amaze me.
