Took a Doily Break
I took a small break from doily making to make another Beaded Jute Basket
I modified Donna's pattern very slightly to add three extra rows between rows 11 and 12 of the pattern to compensate for the extra size that the three ply jute adds.
I also wanted to add these cute glass beads that I brought last weekend. I like the different colors and shapes. This is such a fast and easy project!
Kudos to Sharon!
Sharon is a very special person in Blogland to me because she was the first person to comment on my blog. She is a outstanding knitter, and recently, she has taken up crochet, and taken to it very nicely.
Stop by her blog, and check out some of the nice items she has made as well as her observations. She always has something very wise to say.
...And now she's a Two-Way Player! (TWP)
Congrats!

I'm merely a lurker in blogland, but as a lifelong crocheter, I find inspiration, encouragement, humour and just plain joy in your blog. It's the first thing I check every morning when I log on to my computer at work and at home. I'm always so disappointed when you do not post! (No pressure there--honestly!) You are truly an artist Vera, and I thank you for often serving as my muse.

Hi Vera. I'm a long time lurker (although I think I've posted once or twice) but I had to come out of lurkdom to say that last doily is beautiful, and I'm not usually a doily person.
I keep hoping to run into you at Knit! but I'm both time and navigationally challenged. now that they've moved I'm sure it'll take me another year to figure out where they are.
Have a good week!

Lovely, Vera! I'm glad you are enjoying making these.

Very nice - I've been hankering to whip up the jute basket myself. Incidentally, is your weatherpixie title from a Crowded House song? If so, you totally rock my socks and stuff. If not, you're still pretty cool :) (Ok, end valley girl speak.)
My hubby is a Kiwi, so Crowded House is near and dear.
Cheers!
