Here we go...
A Package from Dubai
Shaima was Ro's Secret Pal, and she sent Ro some lovely scarves.
Later, I got an e-mail from her about the "Free Martha Bags", and we started exchanging e-mails. Shaima lives in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and wanted some magazines and yarn, and I wanted some scarves, so we made a trade.
I received two beautiful scarves, some Kinder Eggs (they are awesome), postcards, and some coins, which Patrick, the coin collector, took for his collection.
Thank you Shaima for the great package, and please let me know when the things I sent arrive.
My Poster Boy
I'm still working on Poster Boy.
He really does look like Patrick, and I'm learning a lot about fair isle knitting. At first, I knitted too tight and got some puckering, but not a deal breaker. I also found as as I make smaller floats--over four stitches or less, it looks better too.
I have about twenty more rows for the main part of the bag, then I need to make the straps and sew it up. I will let a friend put the lining in. I'm not that bold to do it myself just yet.
Vera's First Knitted Mitten
I made my very first mitten
. The pattern is the basic mittens on four needles from Ann Norling, and I made the right hand mitten. The yarn is called Anna's Yarn from Liisu Yarn's, and it works up very nicely.
The mitten is slighly bigger than I would like although Patrick says it looks just fine on my hand, and I generally trust him to tell me the truth about these things.
Of course, I need to make a left mitten. Mustn't get SMS--"Second Mitten Syndrome."
It's Electric
I received my Peruvian Highland Wool from Elann for the Rogue.
The color is called Electric Blue, and it's a gorgeous color. Normally, I stick with pinks, purples, and berries, but this time, I wanted to go with something different.
I need to read the pattern and start my swatches very soon. I'm excited about starting this sweater. Making the Celtic Cap gave me confidence. Also, I know I can count on those who have made the sweater to help me with questions.
As Seen on the Web (ASOTW)
Maryse decorated her Christmas tree with tiny sweaters! So cute!
Beth really took the Knitter's Paintbox for the Market Squares Bag to heart and has made a cool page. I really need to think about what colors I will use.
I love all the neat snow photos! This one from Margene is pretty cool.
Well, I guess this wasn't a quickie post, but I like the title. Time to get ready to go to work for a short day. Tonight, Patrick and I will have dinner, exchange presents and spend a quiet Christmas working on projects and relaxing.
Merry, Merry Christmas to all of you in Blogland!

I got some of that Highland Wool for another project - the same amount, just in "Dusty Teal." Love the stuff. :)
I just dropped by to wish you & yours a wonderful holiday. :) I look forward to seeing all your projects in 2005!

I knew you'd get hooked on those KinderSurprise eggs. And the Anna's Yarn is beautiful. I still haven't used mine although I pet it every once and a while. Do you think there's enough for both mittens and a pair of socks?
