Crazy from the Heat
Saturday, Patrick and I went downtown to check out the tall ships. I enjoyed the festival, and the ships were beautiful, but the weather was brutally hot--96 degrees before you consider the humidity and heat index--and even though we were near the water, there was no breeze. I thought I drank enough water, but suddenly, I felt as if my insides were cooking. My hands got clammy, and I nearly stopped sweating. I took in some water, and felt a little better.
Then, we has some lunch and saw the documentary Super Size Me. During the movie, I got a very nasty headache and felt strange--as if I were drunk. When I got home, all I could do was crawl into bed and nurse my headache, chills, and nausea.
Sunday, I felt a little better, so I went to the flea market, and got sick again. My headache didn't go away until Tuesday. I feel great now, but never had a reaction like that to heat before.
A Not So Crafty Week
I didn't work on the poncho, my Broadripple sock, or Charlotte. I didn't even read much. I did work on the Trio Bag.
I'm nearly finished. I got the hang of the attached I-cord at the top and the handles are pinned on. I think this will turn out cute once it's cleaned up. I also think between this project and Charlotte that I've become friends with my inner purl--that is I don't mind purling so much. Go figure.
My stash of sock yarn is growing. Can you tell what colors I like best?
One of these I will use for my Cloverleaf sock.
The Flower Power CAL is coming along swell. The official start is July 1st, but feel free to jump right in.
More Gifts! Thanks!
I got another envelope of gifts from Fatima, my former Secret Pal. They came in last week.
I love the books, note pad and chocolates (which have already been eaten--so not pictured).
Thanks so much Fatima!
